The New Brunswick Federation of Labour Women's Committee hosted the first Women in Leadership Gala Dinner in Fredericton on April 30th, 2011.  Sister Jeannie Baldwin, PSAC Atlantic Region Executive Vice-President, and Sister Barbara Byers, CLC Executive Vice-President, delighted the audience as guest speakers.

The 1st NBFL Women in Leadership Award was presented to Enid Egars who has devoted much of her time over the past 15 years to promoting the economic awareness and social welfare of our sisters, victims of violence.  As chairperson of the December 6th Committee of the Moncton & District Labour Council, she has successfully increased the public's awareness of the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.  It's because of her leadership that we continue to hold the December 6th vigils and to raise thousands of dollars each year to help victims of violence through the sale of purple ribbons.

A special thank you goes out to our PSAC Sister Marie-Ange Losier who sits on the women's committee and helped to plan the evening.  PSAC proudly supported the event by sponsoring member attendance.
